Why do we get diseases?
It’s a question we’ve all asked ourselves at one time or another.
Why do some people get sick more easily than others? Why do certain diseases keep coming back, even after they’ve been treated? Why does the body keep showing the same symptoms, perhaps in different forms?
Most of us have grown up looking for answers outside ourselves: a medicine, a test, a diagnosis, a treatment – but we are rarely taught to understand why the body has started behaving in that way.
From a young age, we learn to recognise symptoms. We rarely learn to listen to them, even less to understand them.
We have learnt to ignore the body’s signals, even before we can interpret them.
What if that is precisely where a completely different way of looking after our health begins?
A different perspective on health
We live in a culture that considers symptoms to be a inconvenience to be removed as quickly as possible.
Health, however, can be looked at in a different way.
The body is a living, extraordinarily intelligent system that works every day to maintain its own balance. When something disrupts this balance — prolonged stress, a frenetic lifestyle, suppressed emotions, an unhealthy diet, lack of rest or a life increasingly disconnected from nature — the body adapts.
For a long time, it manages to compensate.
When it can no longer do so, it begins to communicate this to us.
From this perspective, a symptom is not necessarily the problem.
It may be the body’s way of alerting us that something in our lives needs attention.
This does not mean that every symptom has a single cause, nor that there is a simple or universal solution.
It means learning to look at the body through different eyes: not as an enemy to be fought, but as an ally that is constantly trying to bring us back to balance.
The body speaks. Do we still know how to listen to it?
Imagine you’re driving a car.
If a warning light comes on on the front panel, what do you do? First of all, you try to figure out whether it’s a serious problem or one that can wait. Some warning lights, if ignored, can cause major problems for the car. You can always ignore it, or perhaps cover it up. The warning light will stop bothering you, but the problem that caused it to come on will still be there.
Symptoms work in very much the same way. They aren’t simply something to be gotten rid of. They are valuable information about our state of health.
Learning to listen to them does not mean giving up on treatment or avoiding medicine when it is needed.
It means asking a question that we all too often forget to ask ourselves:
What is my body trying to tell me?
Because understanding the root cause of an imbalance allows us not only to address its symptoms, but also to create the conditions for the body to return to its natural balance.
What you’ll learn on the course
This course will offer you a new perspective on health and practical tools to help you take care of yourself in a more mindful way.
During the course, we will explore:
- a holistic view of health and the body’s innate ability to self-regulate;
- the connection between body, mind, emotions and wellbeing;
- how to recognise and interpret the body’s signals with greater awareness;
- the role of stress, lifestyle and disconnection from nature in chronic disorders;
- the cyclical nature of the natural world and how to use it as a guide to restoring balance;
- simple daily practices involving listening, breathing, yoga and mindfulness;
- natural and traditional remedies to support the body in dealing with minor everyday diseases.
You won’t find rigid protocols or one-size-fits-all solutions.
You will find tools to get to know your body better and develop greater autonomy in taking care of your health.
Taking the power to shape your own wellbeing
One of the most important aims of this journey is to restore your confidence in your body’s extraordinary wisdom.
This does not mean doing without medicine when it is needed.
It means learning not to hand over complete control of your health to others.
It means getting to know your body better, recognising the early signs of imbalance, understanding what might have caused them, and learning to support, every day, your body’s natural ability to restore its own balance.
Because health isn’t something that someone else gives back to us.
It’s a relationship we nurture every day.
Who is this course meant for?
This course is designed for those who wish to gain a deeper understanding of their body language.
For those who want to acquire practical tools to prevent imbalances and support their wellbeing through a more mindful lifestyle.
For those who wish to rediscover the deep connection between human beings and nature.
And for those who feel that taking care of oneself means learning to listen to oneself, even before seeking treatment.
Why I created this course
For many years, I also tried to resolve my health issues in the same way as so many others: simply by trying to get rid of the symptoms.
Then something changed. I began to see each symptom as a warning light on a car’s control panel.
Not a nuisance to be rid of as quickly as possible, but a message that deserved to be taken seriously.
This perspective led me to take a deeper look at my lifestyle, my relationship with my emotions, with food, with nature and with myself.
Over time, I managed to resolve chronic intestinal pain that had plagued me for years and to overcome a skin condition that I had long treated almost exclusively with cortisone-based creams.
Not thanks to a miracle cure, but through a journey of self-awareness, gradual changes and an ever-deepening understanding of my body’s signals.
Over the years, I have also been fortunate enough to see many other people embark on this same journey and experience significant improvements in their health and quality of life.
This is what inspired me to create this course. Not to offer simple answers to complex problems, but to share a perspective that has profoundly transformed the way I approach health and which continues, every day, to guide my work.
Because the body is not something to be controlled, but to be understood.
